Justin Knapp is the Founder and Managing Partner of the Knapp-Stahler Group, Marcus & Millichap’s top-producing seniors housing investment sales team. With nearly two decades of experience, he is a nationally recognized leader in seniors housing brokerage, consistently delivering results for clients ranging from single-asset owner-operators to large institutional investors and REITs.
Justin began his career in 2006 under the mentorship of his father, Jim Knapp, a pioneering figure in the evolution of seniors housing brokerage in the Midwest. Building on that foundation, he quickly distinguished himself through his deep market knowledge, client-focused approach, and ability to execute complex transactions across independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing facilities.
In 2024, Justin was recognized as the #1 agent in both the Seniors Housing Division and the Detroit office at Marcus & Millichap. As Managing Partner of the Knapp-Stahler Group, he oversees the firm’s eastern U.S. operations, leading business development, portfolio strategy, and client advisory services. He also partners closely with Nick in the institutional arena, advising on large-scale and complex seniors housing transactions nationwide. Under his leadership, the team delivers a combination of local market expertise and comprehensive national reach.
Justin holds a business degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and an MBA from Cleary University. Outside of his professional achievements, he remains deeply committed to his community. He resides in Southeast Michigan with his wife and five children, coaches youth hockey, and has served for nearly 20 years in the fire service as a POC firefighter/paramedic.
