Knapp Group Seniors Housing Advisors of Marcus & Millichap facilitated the sale and new business partnership between National Health Investors (NHI) and Comfort Care Senior Living, a local owner/operator from central MI. The $17.1 transaction began with the listing of Bavarian Comfort Care, a 51 unit AL/MC community in Bridgeport, and quickly grew to include Shields Comfort Care, a 53 unit AL/MC community in Saginaw, MI, after NHI discovered Comfort Care’s other nearby communities. The two campuses were constructed in 2013 and 2015 and had occupancies around 90%. Comfort Care Senior Living will continue to operate both properties through a lease back agreement with NHI, and has given NHI a purchase option on two additional facilities in the state. Jim Knapp and Justin Knapp were the lead agents on the deal.
